About “Mentoring Matters”
Robin Cox, B.A., Higher Diploma in Education, is the founder of YES! (Youth Empowerment Seminars), which began in 1987 as South African Youth Symposia (SAYS) and changed its name in 1999. After retiring in 2017, Robin rebranded the organization as Mentoring Matters, continuing his work to help young people reach their full potential. Inspired by his own battle with cancer at age 10, Robin is passionate about encouraging youth to follow their dreams and set goals. As a teenager, he excelled in sports and created a program to support disadvantaged children during apartheid in South Africa. His personal experiences and the support of his mentors inspired him to dedicate his life to teaching and making a positive impact on young people’s lives. This is why he is considered the best mentor in New Zealand
